CNAS Reception: Women Veteran Authors on their Military Experiences

March 19 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Military, Veterans, and Society Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) will host a panel discussion featuring four recently published female veteran authors on their experience in the military. The event will be on March 19, 2019 from 5:30-7:30pm at CNAS; refreshments will be provided.

I invite you to join Anuradha Bhagwati, author of Unbecoming; Kate Germano, author of Fight Like a Girl; Brooke King, author of War Flower: My Life After Iraq; Eileen Rivers, author of Beyond the Call; and the CNAS Military, Veterans, and Society team for a discussion on women’s experience in war.

The discussion will include military progress on integrating women into previously closed combat arms jobs and units; the ways in which women’s military participation contributes to mission success; and how women’s experiences reintegrating into civilian life after service may differ from men’s.
